Murshidabad is one of the historical places of West Bangal, situated on the banks of Bhagirathi river. It is named after it’s founder, Nawab Murshid Quli Khan. It is said that Murshid is an Arabic word (meaning: teacher with integrity, sensibility & maturity) & abad is a Persian word (meaning: cultivated place).
